During the summer term we will be concentrating on our Science topics and looking at life cycles. I hope the weather continues to improve so we can make use of our lovely grounds. The children learn so much from observing outside of the classroom.
We still continue to work on our times tables in maths. I am impressed that they tell me if we miss our regular times tables tests. They look forward to the challenges these bring as we are now including other areas where tables are important for the children - factors, multiples, square and cubed numbers etc. They are beginning to acquire a range of mathematical language that we use on a regular basis in the classroom. Please keep up all the hard work at home supporting the children.
We have enjoyed reading our class book this term "Floodland" by Marcus Sedgewick. The children have been engaged in the story and enjoyed the drama and role play. Not only this but they have shown excellent understanding at how some of the characters feel at certain points in the story and there have been some interesting debates in the classroom. We have also completed some beautiful art work using this as our basis. Do have a look if you are in school at any time.
Thank you to all those who attended our class mass on Monday 27th April. It was lovely to see you there as the children work so hard to make it a special occasion for their families.
